The Town of Hempstead is to become first on Long Island to pilot an Electric Garbage Truck as part of a commitment to convert the entire town fleet to clean energy vehicles. Here we are previewing a NYC Department of Santiation's Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck, State-of-the-Art Clean Air Vehicle. It is only one of two in the world and the Town of Hempstead Sanitation will test this truck model by the end of the year.
